RINOMOVE PLATFORM COOKIE AND LOCAL STORAGE POLICY
1. GENERAL INFORMATION This Policy explains how the RinoMove Platform uses cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, and similar technologies in the user’s browser. 2. WHAT COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE ARE Cookies are small files or records stored by a website in the user’s browser. LocalStorage is browser storage in which data may remain after the browser is closed. SessionStorage is browser storage in which data is usually retained only within the current tab or browser session. These technologies allow the RinoMove Platform to save technical settings and support individual functions.
3. TECHNOLOGIES USED BY THE RINOMOVE PLATFORM The RinoMove Platform may use the following technologies.
3.1. STRICTLY NECESSARY COOKIES Strictly necessary cookies are used for account login, maintaining an authenticated session, protection against unauthorised access, refreshing authentication data, ensuring security, and operating the core functions of the RinoMove Platform. Without these cookies, some functions of the RinoMove Platform may be unavailable. Strictly necessary cookies are used without separate consent because they are required to provide a function requested by the user. Official EU resources also classify authentication cookies and technical cookies necessary for website operation as categories for which consent is generally not required.
3.2. LOCALSTORAGE The RinoMove Platform may use localStorage to save the selected interface language, user settings, and technical parameters required for interface operation. If the user has previously selected a language, the RinoMove Platform may open the interface in the saved language during a subsequent visit.
3.3. SESSIONSTORAGE The RinoMove Platform may use sessionStorage to preserve interface state within the current session, temporarily store data required when moving between pages, save an unfinished draft, prevent data loss when a page is refreshed, support individual authentication and interface functions, and preserve the context of the AI assistant. SessionStorage data is usually deleted after the relevant tab or browser is closed, although the exact behaviour depends on the user’s browser.
4. ANALYTICS AND ADVERTISING COOKIES As of the effective date of this version of the Policy, the RinoMove Platform does not use advertising cookies, does not use cookies for personalised advertising, does not disclose data to advertising networks, and does not create advertising profiles of users. If the RinoMove Platform begins to use optional analytics or advertising cookies, they will be set only after obtaining the relevant user consent where such consent is required by law. Optional analytics cookies must not be set before consent is obtained. This is expressly stated in official EU guidance and in the practice of the Latvian supervisory authority.
5. WHETHER USER CONSENT IS REQUIRED Separate consent is generally not requested for strictly necessary cookies and technical local storage where those technologies are used only to provide a function requested by the user, for example account login, session maintenance, security, saving the selected language, or temporarily saving a draft. If analytics, advertising, or other optional technologies are introduced, the RinoMove Platform will request consent before activation. Rules governing access to information on a user’s device apply not only to traditional cookies but also to other technical means of storing or reading data, including browser local storage.
6. MANAGING COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE The user may delete cookies in browser settings, block cookies in full or in part, delete localStorage and sessionStorage data, use the browser’s private mode, or change the selected language using the RinoMove Platform. After local data is deleted, the user may need to log in again, the selected language may be reset, unsaved drafts may be lost, and individual functions may not operate correctly. Deletion and blocking settings depend on the browser used.
7. RETENTION PERIOD The retention period depends on the purpose of the technology. Session cookies usually remain active until the session ends or the user logs out. Authentication cookies may be retained for the period necessary to maintain a secure session. The selected language may remain in localStorage until the user changes the setting or deletes browser data. SessionStorage data is usually retained until the tab is closed or the browser session ends. Exact technical periods may change when the authentication mechanisms and interface of the RinoMove Platform are updated.
8. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES Individual infrastructure providers may technically participate in data transmission during operation of the RinoMove Platform, including the hosting provider, email service provider, AI service provider, or network traffic protection and delivery provider. This Policy describes technologies set or used directly by the RinoMove Platform. If a third-party service sets its own optional cookies, information about them will be added to this Policy and consent will be requested where required by law.
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY The Operator may update this Policy when the technologies used, authentication mechanism, RinoMove Platform functions, technical service providers, or legal requirements change. The document page states the version number and effective date. If new optional cookies are introduced, the user will be given an opportunity to make a choice before they are used.
